STILL I RISE II

You may sabotage me with your bitter twisted lies, and cast me off like chaff,

You may treat me like the reject of a recycling company, but still I'll rise.

Is my existence a threat to you?

Why are you choleric at my every good?

Why you envious of me, like I'm the heir to the president of world bank?

please, free me, I've done you no wrong.

Hate me all you want, but just like smoke into the air,

like hope, never lost, constantly springing up high,

still I'll rise.

Why do you want to see me break, head bowed, eyes dimed, and laid six fit beneath the surface?

Why do you wanna see me fail?

lose to life's crazy game?

Does my hustle reflect on you?

Don't you take it to heart, I ain't tryna make you feel like a loser.

I'm just a cool black dude who's tryna stepup his game.

Does my integrity affect you?

Do you hate that I walk like a dignitarian?

Out of history's oblivion I will rise

Up from the dust of shame I will rise.

I'll rise from the past of shattered dreams to a bright and promising future.
