A BETTER FATHER

 Though he was not the best of father,

In the family, he was like a total stranger,

He was irresponsible, a devil-may-care, a harum-scarum and a man I wish not to remember.

Well, everything changed when he passed away that fateful September morning,

That was the genesis of my bitter mourning.

I hope to be the first rate version of him, a better father,

One that provides and protects his family, a father, friend and lover.

To my wife, I'll dedicate my life.

I'll always be there for them no matter the time zone,

And their pictures will be the wallpaper on my iphone.
