VANITY UPON VANITY

It's amazing how folks got high hopes of this earth.

This isn't Heaven, so don't expect it to be.

People believe so much in illusions that they barely differentiate between what's real and delusional.

It's a fleeting world we live in,

Everything is momentary, the air you breathe is fugitive,

Someday, the world will be stripped off, leaving it bear and void, like it once was.

The beauty you see today, will someday turn ashes,

Your pretty face and amazing curves will someday shrink,

And your strength will varnish, leaving you weak and feeble.

Life is a journey to the unknown,

It's destination is still a mystery,

It is full of enigma and perplexity,

Who can solve life's baffling puzzle?

Nothing good lasts forever, yet we strive to achieve good things.

Human nature is bad as good,

Bad things happening to good people,

Sisters murdering brothers,

Mother's killing children,

And husband's slaying wives, but for what? Pride and self-love.

Vanity upon vanity, it's all worthless and good-for-naught...

Poor ineptitude humans.

Unsatisfied humans, if only just enough could suffice our greed,

But no, I mean no element can quench the insatiable fire of our desires.

We were called to include, but we're broken up by anything that can divide.

We are obligated to love and give,

But we chose to hate and take.

Heinous heart of human, what pleasure do you derive from wickedness?

Mind you, no evil goes unrequited,

And no good goes unpunished.
